I can explain why I only gave 4 stars for everything. One parking was a freaking disaster, the parking lot was full and sectioned off for valet. We go inside and we were told the wait was 45 mins, for a table for 4. We were seated 2 mins later (we were going to try somewhere else) assuming that the servers were busy. Next we get our water, 7 minutes later our order was taken food took 15-20 minutes, judging on the swift moving from the severs they were busy busy. When the food arrived my mouth watered as I had heard so many wonderful things about the location (Fayetteville not pulling up on Google Maps). My salmon bites were not good at all I loved the ingress from loaded mac. I did not expect them to be fried as I don’t like fried foods and eat maybe once a month, it was tasteless they met so much hot sauce and the dipping sauce provided, but it tasted like mayo (I don’t eat mayo) so that was ugh. Let’s go to the mac and cheese me I’m in love with mac n cheese like a kid, they were cheesy indeed but lacked the flavor I desired. My hubs said the greens were vinegar tasting, his lobster pasta was delicious I tell ya. Nice setting I must say, the music was interesting, the bathroom was clean, but needed a tiding up the second time and went in there. My server name was niecey (not sure of spelling). Although she was in and out of the kitchen and visited the table twice she did not refill my water which was emptied due to the long wait waiting for food to arrive. She still received a decent tip. Should’ve ordered that cornbread
Lord, have mercy on my soul!!!! Why did I stumble upon this place while visiting family in Atlanta. Southern Fire is absolutely incredible. The food was the best soul food I have had in over 20 years. I don't know who they have in the kitchen, but OMG, chef's kiss! I ordered food to go because the place was so packed. There was a 35-minute wait. I ordered 2 smothered turkey wing dinners (sorry, my mom just started to chow down before I could snap a good pic) with candied yams, collard greens, and a side of mac & cheese. Also, ordered the fried catfish dinner with collars and mac. For dessert, we got the peach cobbler, red velvet cake, and pound cake. Yes, we're eaters. The food was so well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The desserts were also delicious. The red velvet cake, absolutely superb, the peach cobbler, perfect peach to crust ratio. My least favorite was the pound cake (wouldn't order that again). The food was just like my granny used to make. The kind so good you have to kick off your shoes and wiggle your toes while eating. I have been telling everyone I can about this place. It is a real gem. Next time, I will dine in because the vibe looks incredible, and the decor is beautiful. Wishing Southern Fire many, many, many years of success. It's well deserved. And just know I will be back.
Very good food and manageable prices. We arrived and was told 45mins for a table for four. We waited maybe 10mins to walk inside with more then 10 tables available, I wasn't sure why we were told to wait so long when it was not packed at the time. We were also rushed to leave the polite way, our food came out and not even 15mins later the waiter was coming with Togo boxes. That really made me and my party upset because we wanted to take our time and enjoy our meals and drinks. I ate everything I ordered and didnt need a box to go. Other then the little mistakes we all enjoyed the place, the food and drinks. ( entrées ordered were the bake potatoe pasta, lamb chops with two sides and the fired chicken and sides).
First time visiting this restaurant and I'll definitely go back. I met up with some friends Saturday night for a belated birthday celebration. I got there around 6 pm and there was about a 45-50 minute wait. The ambiance is really nice and the food was delicious. I ordered the honey garlic chicken wings, which had just the right amount of crisp without being overcooked. It's an appetizer, but I chose it as my meal, along with black eyed peas, candied yams and cornbread. That, plus my 'Georgia on my mind' cocktail was $41. Plus, they auto-added gratuity for a party of 4, so it was $51 total. My friends also ordered the catfish, fried chicken wings, Mac and cheese, collard greens and mashed potatoes. Everybody thought the food was good, but mentioned that the collards were a little salty, and so were the mashed potatoes. Overall, it was a great dining experience, the customer service was good, and I would recommend Southern Fire Kitchen.
We visited the Fayetteville location on a Sunday evening and we're seated immediately. Our waitress was very prompt and attentive. Our food came out quickly and it was delicious and plentiful! The portions are huge, you will definitely have food to go. Tonight they had complimentary valet parking (not sure if its an every night thing). Overall we enjoyed our experience and will definitely visit again.
Runnnn, don’t walk — this is hands down the BEST soul food I’ve had in Atlanta! The cornbread is chef’s kiss perfectly sweet with honey on top. The catfish was fried just right, and the mac & cheese was a 10/10. I also got the strawberry frozen drink, and if you’re a frozen drink girl like me, you’ll love it. It’s sweet, you can still taste the liquor, and it’s not watered down. If I didn’t live so far, this would definitely be my go-to spot. They have good parking as well, I just wish they had another location!
